What is JNVST?

The JNVST, or Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test, is given to people who want to enter Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in 28 states and eight union territories. The JNVST Class 11 exam is for getting into class XI. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti gives this test to pick the best students to attend India’s JNV schools. There are 661 Navodaya schools all over the country right now.

Criteria for Filling Vacancies in Navodaya Class 11 Admission

The Rural, Girl, SC/ST, and Divyang candidates will fill the open spots. If there aren’t any suitable candidates, the open seats will be filled according to NVS rules. After the conduct of the selection test, the provisional selection of students will be made as per the following steps:

1. Each district will have a merit list, and students will be tentatively chosen to fill the open spots. To fill open seats in Class X, candidates must live and study in the same area. These candidates will be chosen from a district-wise merit list.
2. A shared merit list will be made at the state level after the students are chosen to fill the open positions in the district’s JNV. Once step an is done, any open positions in any JNVs in the same state will be filled from the state-level honour list, with candidates’ choices considered.
3. People who are applying from one state can’t get into another state. The selected students will be informed by the Principal of the concerned JNV.

The chosen students will be told by the principal of the relevant JNV by text message or speed mail.

Syllabus of the JNVST Class 11 Exam

The selection test will last two and a half hours, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and have five parts with only objective-type questions. There are a total of 100 questions worth 100 points.

Streams and selection criteria – Navodaya Class 11 Exam 2023

The candidate must get at least six out of twenty points in all five classes to meet the NVS requirements. But the merit list will be made based on the scores you got in each topic based on the following rules: (From 60)

In addition to the sectional cut-off, the overall cut-off out of 60 will also be considered when the merit list is made to choose candidates temporarily.

1. For Gen/ OBC Boys: 21
2. For Gen/ OBC Girls: 20
3. For SC/ST/Divyang candidates: 18

If two people get the same number of points out of 60, the following rules will be used in the same order:

a) The person who got the highest score out of 40 (two topics) without counting the Mental Ability Score will be chosen.

b) If there is still a tie, the candidate with the highest score in all five topics (out of 100) will be chosen.

c) Even then, the female candidate will be chosen if there is a tie.

(d) The younger individual will be chosen if there is still a tie.
